Nelson Rangell headlines Smooth Jazz at Sunset concert

Smooth Jazz artist “Nelson Rangell” will headline the 10th annual Smooth Jazz at Sunset concert in conjunction with the Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff on the evening of Saturday, July 14 at Shadowland Pavilion on St. Joseph’s Silver Beach. Opening the Smooth Jazz evening is The Three Gringos — Joey Edwin, Nate Lacny, & Bryan Lubeck. Their mastery of talents combine to create a high energy and romantic tapestry of pop, Latin and jazz.
Headline act is jazz musician, Nelson Rangell. Jazziz Magazine writes that Nelson Rangell is “an artist of depth, a master of song, and an improviser non pareil.” The Times of London notes “his extraordinary facility on a range of instruments and his undoubted virtuosity,” adding that Nelson is “one of fusion’s most accomplished exponents.”
In addition to recording his solo albums, Rangell was involved in the GRP All-Star Big Band, playing both in the studio and on the road.
Tickets are available at the Krasl Art Center, the Coast studios in Benton Harbor. A limited number of reserved seats priced at $27.50 in advance, $35 day of show will be available, as well as general admission seating, $22.50 in advance, $30 day of show, where concert-goers are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the show.
