Auditions will be conducted at select locations from now through November. A semifinalist will be chosen from each audition site. The semifinalists will be featured on its website throughout the summer. Watch videos of their auditions and rate your favorite today!
Five finalists will then be selected from the semifinalists. They will be featured on the website during January 2006 so the public can vote for their favorite entry. 2005 Win Your Own
Fishing Show Contest Rules
1. This contest is conducted by The Outdoor Channel, Inc. ("The Outdoor Channel"). Each entrant to this contest has the chance of winning an opportunity to host a fishing show that will appear on one or both of The Outdoor Channel's programming services known respectively as The Outdoor Channel and Outdoor Channel 2 HD. The term "fishing show" or "show" as used in these rules means one video program of at least 22 minutes in duration featuring fishing, as determined by The Outdoor Channel. The winner may propose the subject matter and the location for the filming of the show (subject to The Outdoor Channel's approval), and will appear as the host of the show. Each entrant must audition, sign The Outdoor Channel's Consent and Release form, and otherwise be eligible to participate as described in these rules. Chances of winning depend on whether the entrant's audition is selected as the winner, and whether the selected entrant is available to be filmed when scheduled, as described below.
2. To enter, you must be filmed for an audition at an event held by The Outdoor Channel which has auditioning available for this contest (an "Audition Site"). Audition Sites will be published on www.outdoorchannel.com. The last day to audition is Sunday, Nov. 20. Entrants must be 18 years of age and legal residents residing in the United States. Entrants will be required to sign The Outdoor Channel's Release and Consent form in order to be eligible to enter. All entries, including filmed auditions, taken at the Audition Sites will become the property of The Outdoor Channel and will not be returned.
3. A committee of Outdoor Channel employees will select one semi-finalist from each Audition Site. Each semi-finalist will receive an Outdoor Channel gift pack consisting of Outdoor Channel promotional items. The semi-finalists' auditions, as edited by The Outdoor Channel, will be featured on www.outdoorchannel.com between March 2005 and December 2005. Visitors to the web site will be able to rate their favorite auditions for popularity purposes, but the rating will have no bearing on the selection of the finalists.
4. From the group of semifinalists, a committee of Outdoor Channel employees will select five finalists. The decisions of the committee are final. The finalists will be featured on The Outdoor Channel's web site (www.outdoorchannel.com) during the month of January 2006 so that the public can vote for their favorite entry. The finalist that receives the most votes will be the winner. Each person may only vote once, and may only vote on-line at outdoorchannel.com.
The Outdoor Channel reserves the right to determine the winner and disqualify any votes that appear to be duplicative or otherwise fraudulent.
The decision of The Outdoor Channel is final.
5. The winner will be announced on The Outdoor Channel's programming service known as The Outdoor Channel on February 18, 2006, and the results of the contest will be posted on The Outdoor Channel's web site (www.outdoorchannel.com) the following day.
6. The winner may propose the subject matter and the location for the filming of the fishing show (subject to The Outdoor Channel's approval), and will appear as the host of that show. He or she also will be allotted certain space in the closing credits of the show to acknowledge friends and family on a noncommercial basis.
7. The Outdoor Channel will pay the winner's reasonable travel expenses and accommodations, as necessary for filming the show. The winner will be liable for all applicable taxes. The show will be filmed during 2006 and will air on either The Outdoor Channel and/or Outdoor Channel 2 HD, as determined by The Outdoor Channel.
8. The fishing show will be the property of The Outdoor Channel. The Outdoor Channel retains final approval of all elements of the show to ensure that they conform to the family friendly programming philosophy of The Outdoor Channel and to all legal requirements and broadcast standards.
9. The Outdoor Channel reserves the right to determine the filming schedule, location, and final content of the show. The winner must be available to be filmed when scheduled at the selected location in order to be eligible to win. In the event that the winner is not able to be filmed when scheduled, an alternate winner will be selected by The Outdoor Channel from the list of finalists.
10. By entering this contest, all contestants consent to the use of their name, image, likeness, voice, picture and biographical material for promotional purposes, for use and distribution of their audition and in connection with the production and distribution of the fishing show, without any fee whatsoever, as further described in The Outdoor Channel's Consent and Release form.
11. Employees of The Outdoor Channel and its parent and its parent's subsidiary companies and its sponsors are not eligible to enter the contest.
