Fierce Dance Academy will end Summer in the City weekend with a fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Dowagiac Moose Lodge, aimed to help send young dancers to competitions.
The event will take place the day after Summer in the City wraps up its three-day festival in downtown Dowagiac. FierceDance Academy, owned by 17-year-old Gabby Sherman, teaches several styles of dance to children in the area. Visitors who attend will be treated to eggs, Canadian bacon, pancakes, potatoes, coffee and orange juice. The event will also include a bake sale and silent auction. Tickets are $5.
Sherman said patrons only need “to come hungry,” since the academy’s dancers will serve and bus the tables.
To purchase tickets, stop by The Red Raven, 201 S. Front St., in downtown Dowagiac. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, 54867 M-51 North. Call Sherman at (256) 289-0774 or Cheryl at (269) 462-9144.
