Shirley Buchan, 76

Shirley Ann (Wolf) Buchan, 76, of Niles, passed away at her home Thursday, May 24, 2012.

Shirley was born Dec. 18, 1935, to the late Jerald and Mary (Petruska) Wolf.

After high school, Shirley began working for the City of Niles. She was a billing clerk and retired in 2005 after 32 years. Shirley was fondly known by her close friends as “Butch” and will always be remembered for her generosity. There wasn’t a thing that Shirley wouldn’t do for a friend and was “the sweetest woman on Earth.”

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Kathy) Buchan, of Burleson, Texas, Jerald (Patricia) Buchan, of Cassopolis, James Buchan, of Niles, Charles (Robert Parker) Buchan, of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Kenneth (Debby) Wolf; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild, with one on the way; and her dog, Obi.

The family will be hosting a memorial service at Michiana Christian Embassy in Niles on Wednesday, May 30, at 2 p.m.
