Mark Magyar moves to Grand Rapids

CASSOPOLIS – Mark J. Magyar, son of John and Annette Magyar of Dowagiac, was sworn in as an attorney admitted to practice law in Michigan on Monday, July 25, by Cass County Circuit Judge Michael E. Dodge.

Magyar, who graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 1999, graduated from Western Michigan University in 2003 and from the University of Michigan Law School in 2006.

Upon graduating law school, Magyar became admitted to practice law in Illinois, where he was employed by the Chicago law firm Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP from September 2006 to December 2010.

In December, Mark and his fiancee, Megan Bennie, moved to Grand Rapids, at which time Magyar joined the law firm Dykema Gossett PLLC, where he is presently employed.

Magyar’s father, John F. Magyar, who has practiced law in Dowagiac since 1983, was his son’s sponsoring attorney at Monday’s swearing-in ceremony.

Magyar’s bar admissions now include the states of Michigan and Illinois and the federal courts of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Magyar concentrates his practice on commercial litigation matters and consumer financial services defense litigation.
