Nancy Lauricella, 59
May 13, 1952 —
March 18, 2012

Nancy L. (Smith) Lauricella, 59, of Niles, formerly of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest Sunday night, March 18, 2012, at her home after an illness.
She was born May 13, 1952, in Niles, the daughter of Lloyd and Nellie (Lyons) Smith. Nancy grew up in Edwardsburg and graduated from Edwardsburg High School and enjoyed life in general.
Nancy was married July 27, 1985, at Smith’s Chapel Church to Anthony Mike Lauricella, and they were motorcycle riders and enjoyed the freedom of being on the road. She lived to work in her yard and tend to her flowers and anything that would grow. She had worked for Monaco Coach and recently with Godrey Marine in fiberglass molding. Nancy loved her family heritage, being a direct descendant of the Smith’s Chapel family. That meant a lot to the family.
Surviving is her husband, Mike; her daughter, Tracy Ann Hojara, of Clarksville, Ind.; and two stepchildren, Carrie (Darrow) Bishop and Mark Lauricella, both of Phoenix. There is one grandchild; a sister, Carol “Beaner” Smith and Allen (Denise) Smith, all of Niles; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Smith of Mishawaka.
Family who have passed are her parents; a grandson, Stephen Anthony; four sisters, Patty Smith, Beverly Lynch, Barbie Visser and Virginia Bricker; and two brothers, Donald Smith and Larry Smith.
A memorial tribute service will be held at Smith’s Chapel Church, 29852 Redfield Rd., west of Edwardsburg, on Saturday, March 31, at 11 a.m. Friends and family may gather beginning at 10 a.m. for the service.
Interment of cremains will be at a later date in Smith’s Chapel Cemetery when it is closer to Nancy’s birthday. Officiating will be the Rev. Jeff Reese, pastor of Hope United Methodist Church.
Memorial donations may be directed to Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085.
Arrangements are by Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
