Helen R. Stahl, 89, of Cassopolis, died March 30, 2012, in Cass County MedicalCare Facility in Cassopolis.

She was born in Cassopolis on Sept. 30, 1922, to Lucien and Lula Maude(Ruth) Waldo. She married Richard I. Stahl on Sept. 11, 1947, in Angola, Ind. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert Dings; one sister, Florence Waldo; three brothers, Murray D. Waldo and twins Robert and Richard Waldo; and one son-in-law, Michael Grahl.

Helen was a homemaker. She was a member of Cassopolis Methodist Church and the William E. Lozier VFW Post 10704 Ladies’ Auxiliary. She liked sewing.

She and her husband traveled and went camping, especially touring Michigan.

She is survived by: one daughter, Russelle Grahl of Cassopolis; one son, Daniel (Margaret) Stahl of Wilmington, N.C.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one brother, Phillip (Dorothy) Waldo of Jones.

Family and friends gather on Monday, April 2, from 6 until 8 p.m. in Connelly Chapel, Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway, Cassopolis.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Sears, pastor of Cass Fellowship Bible Church, Cassopolis, officiating.

Mrs. Stahl’s remains will be laid to rest in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Sumnerville, beside her late husband, Richard Stahl.
