Five Pines Ministries, located in Berrien Center is building a “Goliath the Giant” climbing tower.

The new 50-foot outdoor climbing tower replaces a retired 28-foot tower used in Five Pines Ministries’ outdoor education and adventure programs.

Currently Five Pines has raised a little more than $50,000 toward the $94,940 project budget.

Two local foundations, Greater Berrien Springs Endowment Foundation and the Upton Foundation, have invested in the project through challenge gifts to help motivate others to contribute to the tower. “We are now asking the community to partner with us and having challenge money is a great opportunity to see dollars multiply,” Holets said. “We hope to have the funds raised within the next six months.” For more information on the “Goliath the Giant” visit www.fivepines.org or call the office at (269) 471-1396.
