Martha Young Ferris, 91

Martha Young Ferris, 92, of Buchanan, passed away on Saturday, March 10, at her home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel of Buchanan.
Martha was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Buchanan to the late Arthur and Nina (Perkins) Young. She worked at Clark Equipment Company and Electro Voice of Buchanan prior to becoming a mother and homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Buchanan.
On Nov. 9, 1947, in Niles, Martha married Robert Ferris, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Michael (and Jan) Ferris, and a daughter, Roselie Ferris, both of Buchanan; and a sister, Esther Crawford of Buchanan. Preceding her in death were three brothers, Ted, Lyle and Roger Young.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, at Swem Chapel, with the Rev. Patricia Ramsden officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 12, at Swem Chapel in Buchanan. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or to Hospice at Home.
