AUBURN HILLS — Chanc Ravish of Brandywine and Gage Hutchison of Buchanan will compete for state championships Saturday at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Ravish and Hutchison won their respective semifinal matches in Division 4 and Division 3 at the Michigan High School Athletic Association Individual State Wrestling Finals.

Ravish needed overtime to advance to the 130-pound championship match Saturday afternoon as he edged Patrick Waterstradt of Athens 5-3.

The Brandywine junior, who is 49-3 on the season, will face New Lothrop’s Jacob Perrin (51-3) for the title.

Hutchison, 56-0, hasn’t had a match get out of the first period so far in the state finals.

Friday night he pinned Nick Huckabay of Montrose in 1:27 to advance to the championship match where he will face Tyler Gruszak (44-3) of Comstock Park for the 215-pound crown.

Earlier in the day, Niles’ Donte Stevens and Buchanan’s Jeff Mucha both remained alive in the consolation bracket.

Stevens defeated Kasey Shriner of Clio 3-0 in the second round of consolation at 145. Mucha edged Jordon Bennett of Lake Odessa-Lakewood 4-3 at 135.

Both will begin competition Saturday morning as the third round of consolation begins at 8:30 a.m.

The consolation semifinals are slated for 10:10 a.m. with the consolation final set to begin at approximately 11:30.

The championship finals will begin at 4:45 p.m.
