Gail Bess Posey Gaunder, 69, passed away at her home in Carrollton, Ga., on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, following a courageous battle against cancer.
Mrs. Gaunder was born in Huntsville on Dec. 19, 1941.  She was the daughter of the late Martin Jay Posey and the late Margaret Brown Posey.
Mrs. Gaunder was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She worked many years in the nursing home industry in management.
Survivors include her husband, John Michael Gaunder, Sr, formerly of Edwardsburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Dave Post of Carrollton; and a number of other relatives.
Private memorial services were conducted at the family home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Carroll County Humane Society.
