Dolores V. (Monette) Bellgowan, 82, of Palm Bay, Fla. and formerly of Cassopolis and Lansing, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 in Troy, Mich.
Dolores was born Aug. 13, 1929, the daughter of Edmund and Emilia Monette.
She graduated from Cassopolis High School and St. Joseph’s Nursing School in South Bend. She worked as a surgical nurse for many years. Dolores was very active with her parish in Palm Bay, St. Joseph Catholic Church and worked with their food pantry, the Daily Bread.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and son, George.
Surviving are her children, Marcus (Bill) Gorsline, Debbie (Bob) Sack, Mike Bellgowan and Mark (Dan Kelly) Bellgowan; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; brothers, Edmund and Melvin Monette; sister, Heane Monette.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Klein as celebrant. Interment followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
The family received friends at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel until service time at the church. A Rosary was prayed at the funeral home.
