John J. Grice, 22, of Vandalia, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011.

He was born Feb. 3, 1989 in South Bend, Ind..
He is survived by his mother, Jeanie Haines of Elkhart; maternal grandparents, John Grice of Niles and Ellen (John) Stangland of Elkhart; one sister, Ashley Grice of Niles; niece, Ashlynn Lee West of Niles; aunt, Cristal McLaughlin of Osceola; cousin, Andrew Grice of Osceola; stepfather, Larry Haines and stepbrother, Larry Haines, Jr. of Elkhart.
John is also survived  by his “other mother,” Becky Dick; girlfriend, Patiance Johnson; brothers by other mothers, Jonathon Foster, Thomas Goodrich, Joe Fortuna, Chris Brown and A.J. Ballard; and childhood friend, Ryan Dick.
Family and friends gathered Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Ross Beatty Senior High School gymnasium, 22721 Diamond Cove St., Cassopolis from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m.  Maj. Steven Woodard officiated.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis.
