Mary Patzer, 70

Mary Patzer, 70

She was born July 24, 1940 in Cassopolis to Elsworth and Zona (Dudley) Hunsberger.

She married Richard A. Patzer on Sept. 4, 1970 in Dowagiac. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2010.

She looked forward to the farmers’ market every year. She enjoyed attending musical luncheons at the Council on Aging, many times along with a daughter and great-grandchildren. Mary loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She also enjoyed shopping. She loved crocheting, but only one style of afghan and baby blanket. She had learned one pattern and didn’t see any reason to change what worked.

Mary is survived by three daughters, LouAnn (Terry) Parker of Dowagiac, Linda Solloway of Dowagiac and Sharon (Merl) Haines of Vandalia; one son, Mark Perrin of Vandalia; seven grandchildren, Travis Shell, Kellin Shell, Clinton Perrin, Jay Solloway, Autumn Perrin, David Parker and Matthew Parker; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Minnie (Thomas) Henning of St. Louis, Mo.

Along with her husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by her parents and three grandchildren: Stacy Solloway, Deserae Perrin and John Smith.

Family and friends gathered Friday, June 10 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at Connelly Chapel, Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway St., Cassopolis.

Services were Saturday, June 11 at 11 a.m. followed by interment in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Sumnerville.
