Clark third in Division 2 finals

GRAND RAPIDS — Edwardsburg’s Josh Clark finished third in the 800-meters, while Dowagiac’s Kaisha Martin finished fourth in the long jump and sixth in the 100-meters at Saturday’s Division 2 Lower Penninsula Track & Field Finals at Houseman Field.
Martin was the defending Division 3 state champion in both events.
Clark ran a time of 1:57.39 in the event won by Nick Wharry of Ionia with a time of 1:56.39.
Martin had a leap of 17-8 in the long jump. Michaela Lewis of Flint Southwestern was the winner with a distance of 18-1. In the 100-meters, Martin ran a 12.51. Kendall Baisden of Detroit Country Day captured the state championship with a new meet record of 11.92.
The old record was held by Erica Mann of Battle Creek Lakeview (2006) at 11.99.
