Edwardsburg golfers move on to regionals

KALAMAZOO — The Niles golf team finished second at the Division 2 District Tournament Thursday at Milham Park.
Gull Lake was the district champion as it shot 315 to edge the Vikings by five strokes as Niles finished with a 320.
Mattawan was third with a 325, Lakeshore fourth wtih a 325, Vicksburg fifth with a 333 and Edwardsburg sixth with a 335.
The top six teams all advance to next week’s regional at Gull Lake View West Golf Club June 9
Gull Lake’s Bryan Vandenberg was the medalist as he shot an even par 72. Chris Noble of Niles was the runner-up with a 73.
The Vikings also got a 79 from Jared Langmeyer, an 80 from John Schrader, an 88 from Sam Clark and a 91 from Brett Phillips.
Edwardsburg was led by Chris Eaton’s 79. Dominic Razzano shot 82, Max Habicht 84, Austin Tevlin 90 and Pierce Bourgeois 94.
