A goal in each half was all host Edwardsburg needed Tuesday night to defeat visiting Buchanan 2-1 in Lakeland Conference soccer.

The Eddies (2-1, 1-0 Lakeland) got a first half goal from Aly Mooth with just 5:32 remaining in the period. Macy Stevenson picked up an assist on the goal.

The score remained that way through the rest of the first half.

Edwardsburg scored first in the final 40 minutes to open up a 2-0 advantage on the Bucks.

Brekelle Wiedenmannot scored with 12:22 left in the match as she shot a loose ball past the Bucks’ keeper.

Just 19 seconds later, Buchanan averted the shutout when Rio McRenolyds scored off an assit by Ashlyn Pastrick.
