He was born Jan. 21, 1948 in Berwyn, Ill. to Arthur and Ovall (Cusac) Dahlgren.

He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Arthur “Dale” Dahlgren and John Dahlgren; and one grandson, Louis Roth, Jr.

He was a 1966 graduate of John Adams High School in South Bend, Ind. Roger was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.

He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Louis) Roth of Columbia, S.C. and Emily (fiance, Brian Abell) Dahlgren of Annapolis, Md.; two sons, Adam (Teresa) Dahlgren of Cassopolis and Andrew Dahlgren, currently serving in the U.S. Air Force in Iraq; mother, Ovall Dahlgren of Mishawaka, Ind.; two sisters, Jane Zuroff of Mishawaka and Barbara (John) Geddes of Indianapolis; one brother, James (Gina) Dahlgren of Niles; nine grandchildren; 24 nieces and nephews; and 23 great-nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cassopolis United Methodist Church, 209 South Rowland St., Cassopolis.

Memorial services will be Friday, April 15 at 11 a.m. at the church with military honors provided by the U.S. Army, Efton James American Legion Post 206, Cassopolis, and William E. Lozier VFW Post 10704, Cassopolis. The Rev. James A. Richie will officiate.
