Lucile Maxine Clark, 95, of Kalamazoo, died Dec. 9, 2010 in Kalamazoo.

She was born Feb. 28, 1915 in Edwardsburg to Henry and Golda (Lowman) Lyon. Lucile was originally from Cass County, where she was a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse and continued her teaching career in many venues throughout her years.

She and her husband loved traveling across the U.S. in their motor home, spending winters in the south. They moved to Kalamazoo in 1993. Lucile’s warm and friendly smile will be missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Sally (Jon) Lusk and Jan Boynton; four grandchildren, Michael (Theresa) Lechlitner, Kim (Richard) Raab, Kevin (Nhu Tran) Boynton and Kyle (Jane) Boynton; two step-grandchildren: Heather Lusk (Josh Jenson) and Chris (Jessica) Lusk; six great-grandchildren, Nolan Raab, Clayton and Claire Lechlitner, Thaddeus, Kylie and George Boynton; a step-great-grandchild, Zoe Lusk.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of  56 years, Clayton; brother, Dick Lyon; and son-in-law, Jim Carlson.

A celebration of Lucile’s life will be held Monday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Oshtemo United Methodist Church, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
