A South Bend woman was injured in a crash in Porter Township April 21.

Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that his deputies handled a personal injury crash on Baldwin Prairie Road just south of Chapel Hill Street on April 21 at 9:38 p.m. in Porter Township, Cass County.

The driver, Torina Baker, 43, of South Bend was traveling north on Baldwin Prairie Road when she swerved to miss a deer, lost control and struck a tree rolling her vehicle.  She was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of her minor injuries.

Porter Township Fire and Ambulance assisted deputies at the scene.

Seatbelts were worn at the time of the accident, which is still under investigation.
