Anita E. Strukel, 68, of Edwardsburg passed away Friday, April 9, 2010 at Lakeland Medical Center, Niles surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 1, 1941 in Troy, Mich. to the late Alex and Linnea (Oja) Koski. She retired from Miles Laboratories in Elkhart, Ind. after 35 years of service. Anita was a 1959 graduate of Concord High School. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cassopolis.
Anita married Al Strukel Sr., on July 28, 1962 in Elkhart, and he survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Robin (Barry) Krofcheck, of Amity, Pa.; a son, Al (Elizabeth) Strukel, Jr., of Cassopolis; five grandchildren, Lauren Krofcheck, Rachel Krofcheck, Albert James Strukel, Grace Strukel and Rebecca Krofcheck; a brother, Richard (Alice) Koski, of Russellville, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Koski.
Cremation will take place and a memorial service was held Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 4 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cassopolis. Officiating will be Pastor Thomas Batsky of Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Joseph, Mich. The family received friends Wednesday one hour before the service in the church. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
