Shelley Jo (Knispel) Locey, 53, of Kentwood, Mich., formerly of Edwardsburg and Texas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 28, 2010.

She was born to Carol and Merlin Knispel on Sept. 11, 1956 in Park Forest, Ill.
Shelley graduated from Edwardsburg High School and from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo with a bachelor of arts degree. She was an insurance claims adjuster in the Grand Rapids, Mich. area.

Shelley lived a life of strength, determination and compassion, and will be dearly missed by those who loved her.

She is survived by her two sons, Brent Locey and his wife, Stacy, and Brady (Christina) Locey; two grandchildren, Kayla Jo and Dylan James Locey; her father and stepmother, Merlin and Marian Knispel, of Elkhart; four sisters, Shannon Robinson, of Muskegon, Mich., Sheryl (John) Kline, of Mafnolia, Texas, Stacy (Randall) Speckhard, of Niles and Sandra Ricci; nieces and nephews, Korcy and Anna Robinson, Stephanie, Benjamin and Eric Kline and Max Ricci; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Carol Knispel, and an infant brother, Rick Dean Knispel.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 8, 2010 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church, 68961 Lake St. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Adamsville Cemetery.
