Alison Rae Helmlinger Griffin, 35, of Midlothian, Va., a native daughter of Edwardsburg, died on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, after a battle with cancer.
The family received friends at the Chesterfield, Virginia Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 14301 Ashbrook Parkway, Chesterfield, Va., on Tuesday, Aug. 12, where her funeral was held on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1973, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Ray and Delores Helmlinger.
She was a registered operating room nurse at VCU Health Systems in Chesterfield, Va.
She is survived by her loving husband, Chad P. Griffin,; a daughter, Cali Nicole Griffin and her mother, Delores "Dee" Duke, all of Midlothian, Va.; her father, Ray Helmlinger and a sister, Jael Nicole Svadeba, both of Edwardsburg; two step-brothers, Jeffery (Tina) Duke and Steven (Kellye) Duke, as well as numerous aunts, uncles,, nieces and nephews and a multitude of loving and caring friends.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Larry Duke and her grandparents.
