Coloma gets by Eddies

COLOMA – Despite holding a 6-1 advantage in 3-point baskets, visiting Edwardsburg dropped a 53-43 Lakeland Conference decision to the Coloma Comets on Friday night.
The Comets grabbed a 15-8 first quarter lead, which remained a 7-point cushion at halftime for Coloma.
Leading 27-20 heading into the third quarter, the Comets increased their lead to 11 points, 38-27.
The Eddies couldn't catch the Comets in the final eight minutes. Edwardsburg outscored Coloma 16-15 in the fourth quarter.
Jeff Gargano led a balanced Comet scoring attack with 12 points. Brian Saltzman added 11 points, while Gabe Guidry and Spencer Paulsen both finished with 10 points.
Nate Harness led the Eddies with 12 points. No other Edwardsburg player reached double figures. Kevin Stake finished with eight points.
