Prior to Friday night's Buchanan-Berrien Springs high school football game, Buchanan mayor Joe Scanlon challenged the Berrien Springs village president to a bet. If the Bucks won the game, the Berrien Springs Village Council would attend a Buchanan City Commission meeting.
Should the Shamrocks win the game, the Buchanan City Commission would attend a Berrien Springs Village Council meeting. The loser of the bet would possibly be forced to wear jerseys from the winning team.
At the game, the Shamrocks not only won, but won big. Berrien Springs humbled the previously undefeated Bucks 48-14. True to his word, Scanlon and the City Commission will now visit an upcoming Village Council meeting.
