BROOKLYN – Through the first 50 laps of the Helluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400, Greg Biffle led a group of Roush-Fenway cars in the top 10.
Biffle grabbed the lead on the second restart following a caution for debris. Five-time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson brought out the first caution just nine laps into the race. He had to make a couple additional pit stops to fix a broken sway bar and was two laps down through the first quarter of the race.
Biffle was one of two Roush-Fenway cars in the Top 10. Teammate Matt Kenseth was second with polesitter Kurt Busch third, Kyle Busch fourth and the third Roush-Fenway car Carl Edwards in fifth.
Rounding out the Top 10 were Dale Earnhardt Jr., Brian Vickers, Ryan Newman, Kevin Harvick and A.J. Allmendinger.
Biffle is looking for his third victory at Michigan International Speedway, as are Edwardsburg, Busch, Kenseth and Newman. Earnhardt is looking to snap a 107-race winless streak. He last won at MIS in June of 2008.
Biffle led 36 of the first 50 laps. Kurt Busch led the first nine, but has not been out front since.
The average speed of the race is 150.153.
