Indiana West upsets Michigan

MISHAWAKA, Ind. — Despite having just five players, Indiana West pulled the biggest upset of Sports Fest Wednesday night as it defeated Michigan 79-63 at Bethel College.
Michigan, which was a huge favorite to win the boys’ basketball championship, trailed 38-31 at halftime and was never able to quite figure out the Indiana West zone defense.
Dowagiac’s Darius Wilson, who will attend Northern Iowa Area Community College, led Michigan with 23 points and 12 rebounds.
Wilson averaged a double-double for the Chieftains in the state semifinal run.
Benton Harbor’s Alex Williams added 20 points.
Zoe Bauer of Culver led all scorers with 33 points.
