CASSOPOLIS - A late second half goal provided the margin of victory for visiting Brandywine Monday afternoon against the Cassopolis soccer team.
Brandywine's Matt Wieger scored in the 76th minute off an assist from Matt Duckett to give the Bobcats a hard-fought, 1-0, Lakeland Conference victory.
The victory moved Brandywine to 5-3-1. It was the Bobcats' third straight win.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net during the first 40 minutes and it appeared that the match may have been headed to overtime when Wieger scored.
Despite being outshot 27-5 by the visiting Bobcats, the Rangers held their ground throughout the match.
Brandywine's Jake Harris was credited with three saves, while Cassopolis compiled 15 saves.
The Bobcats travel to Marcellus for a match Wednesday at 5 p.m.
