Brandywine's girls' tennis team continued its fast start to the season Tuesday, beating Niles 8-0 for its second dual-meet sweep in as many days.
The Bobcats beat Cass 8-0 on Monday in their first match of the season. Tuesday's victory moves Brandywine to 3-0 on the season.
While Niles was more competitive than Cass, who won only five games in the match, Brandywine still dominated the Vikings. The Bobcats won all flights in two sets, including two 6-0, 6-0 victories.
The closest match was Brandywine's Jenny Zellman against Niles' Annalee Nelson at No. 1 singles. After Zellman won the first set quickly, Nelson took her to a tie-breaker in the second. Zellman won the tie-breaker to take the match 6-1, 7-6 (7-4).
Brandywine's other singles players had no such troubles. Jenny Cowen at No. 2 singles won 6-1, 6-1 against the Vikings' Mallory Zeigert. Amy Konopinski had one of Brandywine's two shutouts, beating Nicole Weber 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
At No. 4 singles, Amber Valentine beat Niles' Christine Hadley 6-3, 6-2.
