BENTON HARBOR — In the tightest Big 16 Conference West Division Jamboree of the season, Mattawan edged Niles, Lakeshore and St. Joseph to take a four-point lead in the overall standings.

Niles’ Chris Noble tied Josh Switzer of Mattawan for medalist at 38.
Niles also got a 44 from both Brett Phillips and Dominic Wyland, while John Schrader shot 46, Jared Langemeyer 48 and Sam Clark 49.
Mattawan now leads the division with 38 points, while Niles is second with 34 abnd Lakeshore third with 24. St. Joseph has 16 points and Benton Harbor 8.
“We play the same course again, but this time from the grey tees, so it will be a little shorter,” Niles coach Greg Gundersaid. “Anything is possible. For a while today it looked like we were going to win it and Lakeshore was going to come in second. It was close. So there is a far off chance we could still win it.”
