Bobcats take four medals, win Hillsdale Tournament

Brandywine's girls' tennis team rebounded from No. 1 and 2 singles losses Saturday to win the inaugural Hillsdale Tournament to begin its season.
Despite the losses, the Bobcats won No. 3 and 4 singles and No. 2, 3 and 4 doubles. Brandywine's No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles players took second place.
Brandywine finished the tournament with 21 points. Hillsdale took second with 17 points. Three Rivers took third with 11 points, and Brooklyn Columbia Center was fourth with eight points.
Amy Konopinski and Amber Valentine were Brandywine's winners at No. 3 and 4 singles. At No. 2 doubles were Lisa Konopinski and Kristen Peteres. At. No. 3 doubles were Nikki Cooper and Courtney Schlutt.
Ashley Valentine and Jamie Bartuska won at No. 4 doubles to round out the Bobcats' first-place medalists.
Jenny Zellman at No. 2 singles and Bethany Daniel and Christine Dvorak at No. 1 doubles were the second-place medalists for Brandywine.
Brandywine travels to Paw Paw on Wednesday to play the defending Regional Champion Redskins.
