King’s grand slam leads Phillies to win

Kyle King hit a grand slam home run and two singles as he led the Phillies to victory.
Dustin Purcell and Colin Latislaw took care of the pitching duties for the Phillies. Cameron Smallmon took the loss on the mound for the Orioles.
Wayne Marazita and Mikel Lindzy led the Orioles at the plate with a single apiece.

Diamondbacks….2
Dakota Jackson earned the pitching victory for the Red Sox while Jordan Hatch took the loss for the Diamondbacks.
Courtlon Gordon paced the Red Sox at the plate with two doubles and a single.
Landon VanWinkle led the Diamondbacks with a pair of singles.

Pirates……….8
Brian Exner led the Cardinals' hitting attack with three doubles and a single. Buck Bourdon added a double and a single.
Pat Vankirk paced the Pirates with three singles while Nick Scoggins added two singles.
Chris Mangus earned the win on the mound for the Cardinals. Vankirk took the loss for the Pirates.

The Yankees tried to come from behind, scoring five runs in the last two innings, but the Phillies scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to maintain the lead.
Dustin Purcell earned the victory for the Phillies while Tommy Flynn took the loss for the Yankees.
Aaron Davis paced the Phillies at the plate with a home run and a single.
Derrick Nichols led the Yankees with three singles.

Dustin Bell and Tyler Hartman combined to pitch a shutout for the Braves. Joey Godfrey took the loss for the Angels.
Bell and Hartman each singled to lead the Braves offensively.
Zack Edquist and Jacob Frazier each singled for the Angels.

The Yankees won their third game of the season. After trailing early, the Yankees went ahead by five runs before the Pirates tied it up and eventually regained the lead. The Yankees, however, came back to win in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Evan Zimmerman pitched four innings for the Yankees while Aaron Grooms came on in relief and finished the game. The Yankees' offense was led by Shaun Dudka with two doubles and two singles. Jesse Wilson added two doubles and a single while Chad Weimuth hit an in-the-park home run and a double.

In interleague play at Thomas Stadium, the Expos of the Greater Niles Babe Ruth League suffered a lopsided loss to Clay.
Dan Reidenbach scored the Expos' only run of the game as Clay scored all 16 of its runs in the first three innings.
Will Coar took the loss on the mound for the Expos. He struck out three batters.
Reidenbach paced the Expos at the plate with a triple and a single while Ben Gerber added a single.
