LANSING – Dowagiac's state Rep. Sharon Tyler Monday announced she has hired two staff members for her Lansing office: Amy Drumm and William Wagner.
Tyler said it was important to her to pick people familiar with southwest Michigan in making her hiring decision.
"I believe a state representative must put the people she represents first and foremost, so it was important to me to hire good people who understand our unique needs as a border community and who I trust to help me serve the people I was elected to represent," said Tyler, R-Niles.
Drumm, a University of Michigan graduate, will serve as Tyler's legislative director, where she will be responsible for legislative work and assisting Tyler with her committee assignments.
Drumm previously worked on Tyler's campaign while working for the Michigan Republican Party.
Staying on from former Rep. Neal Nitz's office is William Wagner, a Bob Jones University graduate who will continue to serve the 78th House District as Tyler's legislative aide.
Wagner will focus on constituent relations and district related issues.
"I am excited about the team I put together and would again like to remind residents that if you ever have any question or concerns to please contact my office; my staff and I will provide whatever help we can," said Tyler.
Tyler represents the 78th House District, including Berrien and portions of Cass counties.
