CASSOPOLIS -- A two-vehicle crash on M-60 near Corey Lake Street in Newberg Township at 10:19 a.m. Friday, April 23, sent an Edwardsburg woman and a Three Rivers woman to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. identified the driver of a westbound 1998 Chevy Malibu as Desiree Adam, 20, of Edwardsburg, and the driver of a 1990 Dodge Caravan as Velma Wells, 35, of Three Rivers.
The sheriff reported that Adam was traveling toward Jones when she struck the vehicle driven by Wells which pulled out from behind a semi tractor-trailer parked between the driveway entrances of the BP gas station.
Both drivers involved stated they never saw each other due to the parked semi.
Both women were transported to Three Rivers Area Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Initial investigation and witnesses indicate that the Dodge Caravan driven by Wells never saw the oncoming Adam vehicle heading westbound due to the vision obstruction caused by the semi truck.
Alcohol was not a factor.
