Cass, Edwardsburg fall in Lakeland action

COLOMA – In a showdown of Lakeland Conference heavyweights, host Coloma escaped with a 52-51 victory over Cassopolis Thursday night in boys' basketball.
The Comets (2-1, 2-0 Lakeland) outscored the Rangers (1-2, 1-1 Lakeland) 16-13 in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory.
Cassopolis led 12-10 after one period of play and 27-23 at the intermission.
Coloma cut the Rangers' advantage to 38-36 heading into the final eight minutes of play.
Steven Eleazer had 15 points to lead the Rangers and all scorers. Cassopolis also got 15 points from Nick Davis and six points from Raymond Nelson.
Coloma was led by Matt Page and Chris Dew, both of whom scored 11 points.

BRIDGMAN – The Edwardsburg boys' basketball team tasted defeat for the first time this season as host Bridgman scored a 66-41 Lakeland Conference victory on Thursday night.
The Bees (2-1, 1-1 Lakeland) jumped out to a 17-8 first quarter lead, which it extended to 40-23 by halftime.
Bridgman outscored the Eddies 26-18 in the second half to earn the victory.
Brian Sevision had 15 points to lead Edwardsburg, which also got 12 points from Jake Harroff.
Justin DelBosque led the Bees with 16 points. Jay and Conner Magro scored 14 and 10 points respectively.
