Millie's life began on Jan. 3, 1914, outside of Birmingham, Ala.
She worked most of her life as a domestic and cook for the wife of the governor of Alabama.
She lived all over the South and eventually settled in Michigan.
She was united in marriage to Revilla Ross in 1984. Her husband preceded her in death.
She was a faithful member of New Harvest Church in Dowagiac where she served as trustee, pastor's aide and on the Mother Board.
She was well known for never turning anyone away.
Her loving family includes: her children, Clarence Robison of Dowagiac, Sam Robison of Louisiana, Myrtle Berry and Mary Robison of Dowagiac; 19 grandchildren; and a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Millie passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, in South Bend, Ind., as the result of an automobile accident.
She is preceded in death by her husband, a son Freddie Robison and a sister.
Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, Dec. 23, from noon until 1 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in Dowagiac, where Pastor Tonnie Blackamore of New Harvest Church will lead her home going service.
She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac.
McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home is serving the family.
