Lady Rangers now 2-0 in Lakeland Conference

BRIDGMAN – Visiting Cassopolis used a big third quarter to knock off the Bridgman girls' basketball team 43-36 in Lakeland Conference action.
The two teams battled back and forth during the opening 16 minutes; however, the Lady Rangers grabbed an 11-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Bees led 8-7 after one period of play only to have Cassopolis outscore them 7-4 in the second quarter to take a 14-12 lead at halftime.
The Lady Rangers (2-1, 2-0 Lakeland) scored 13 points in the pivotal third quarter while holding Bridgman (1-2, 0-2 Lakeland) to just four points to open up a 27-16 lead.
The Lady Bees scored 20 points in the final eight minutes, but could not overtake Cassopolis, which scored 16 points.
Damonica Kelly scored 12 points to lead the Lady Rangers, who also got 10 points from Taira Williams and seven points each from Tiffany Williams and Lela Broussard.
Brandi Gareau and Tiffany Coffing scored 14 and 12 points respectively for the Lady Bees.
