Tuesday, Dec. 2
6 p.m. – National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, Southwest Michigan Chapter, holds its annual holiday party (buffet dinner is $12/person) at St. Joseph Elks Lodge. Wednesday, Dec. 3
6:30 p.m. – Fall lecture series at The Museum at Southwestern Michigan College concludes. "Voices and Visions from Michigan's American Indian Head Start Programs" features speakers: Dr. Hiram E. Fitzgerald, associate provost, university outreach engagement and university distinguished professor of psychology at Michigan State University; and Dr. Jessica V. Barnes, associate director, university-community partnerships, university outreach and engagement at MSU. All lectures are free and held in the Upton Room. 4 p.m. – Regular Cass County Board of Commissioners meeting in the commission chamber, Suite 217, 120 N. Broadway, Cassopolis.
Friday, Dec. 5
9:45 a.m. – Paw Paw Village Players present the children's holiday show, "The Dancing Princesses." The show is a musical version of the classic tale and runs Dec. 5 at 9:45 a.m., Dec. 6, 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m., with 2 p.m. matinee performances on Dec. 7 and 14. Tickets at the box office cost $8 for adults and $6 students; advance, $5 adults, $4 students at Dancers' Alley, 404 E. Michigan, Paw Paw, or Village Peddler, 504 W. Michigan, Paw Paw. The children's show generally sells out, so purchasing tickets in advance is recommended. Paw Paw Village Playhouse is located at 404 E. Michigan, Paw Paw. Saturday, Dec. 6
9 a.m. – United Methodist Women of First United Methodist Church of Dowagiac annual Christmas Cookie Walk until noon. First UMC is located at 326 N. Lowe St. Containers will be available in which to put your selection of cookies and candies. Prices remain the same as last year – $7.50 for a container of cookies and $5 for a container of candy. Hot coffee and hot tea will be available while you shop for your goodies. All proceeds go to local missions.
9 a.m. – Pokagon United Methodist Church third annual Christmas bazaar for gifts, greens and goodies until 3 p.m. at Sam Adams Middle School cafeteria, M-60 East (Depot Street entrance), Cassopolis.
