NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Carlos Reynolds has been named the new women's soccer coach at Holy Cross College. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to a young program entering its first varsity season in 2009.
Coach Reynolds' previous coaching experiences include stints at St. Joseph High School, Northwood High School, and, most recently, as the women's varsity coach at Marian High School.
In 2006, Reynolds led the Marian squad to semi-state where the team earned 'team of the year'. "His reputation in the community is second to none, and I have complete faith in him to develop our women's program," said Athletic Director Nathan Walker.
Also in 2006, Coach Reynolds won the NIC coach of the year and in 2008 he led Marian to an overall record of 13-5-1.
"He is a proven coach, and has had success at all levels," said Walker. "I believe that Coach Reynolds will be able to continue that success here at Holy Cross."
Reynolds played for the Panamanian soccer national team, which participated in the "Mundial de la Emigracion" in 1982, 1983, and 1986. He also participated in World Cup qualifiers for Mexico '86, and again for Italy '90.
He also played three years in the Panama Premier League for EuroKickers F.C. Coach Reynolds' also worked with the South Bend Soccer Club from 1990-1998.
Reynolds earned a B.A. in Business Administration from the Universidad Santa Maria La Antigua in Panama City. He also earned a Master of Science in Administration from the University of Notre Dame. He currently works for ABRO industries, INC. where he is the manager of information technology.
