EAU CLAIRE – Vance Allen Benson, 60, of Dowagiac, died Monday evening, Nov. 3, 2008, at his home.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire.
A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Union Cemetery in Berrien Center, with military rites conducted by Berrien Springs American Legion Stover-Wagner Post 85.
Vance was born Nov. 5, 1947, in Dowagiac, the son of Clifford and Mary Benson.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
He had been employed by Tidey Farms.
He is survived by: a daughter, Dawn (Stan) Baker and two grandchildren, Staci and Cameron, of Berrien Springs; five sisters, Nancy (Ron) Wagner of St. Joseph, Kathy (Steve) Bunn of Eau Claire, Bonnie (Dennis) Kublick of Berrien Center, Janice (Tom) Sobieski of Decatur, Marcia (Bruce) Nevins of Dowagiac; and a brother, Mike (Shirley) Benson of Dowagiac.
Vance was preceded in death by his parents.
