CASSOPOLIS – Everyone is talking about money these days, but it's hard to know whose advice to trust.
To help, Cass County Council on Aging will hold a financial education series beginning Nov. 5 at the COA.
One class will be held on a different topic every other week through Dec. 17. Each class is free and open to the public, and will start at 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday.
The first class is all about stocks, bonds, trusts and recession-proofing your investments and is presented by Greg Surber of Edward R. Jones Investments in Niles.
The second class is Nov. 19 and will cover property improvement loans and reverse mortgages. Tom Grant from Chemical Bank and Sharon Moehle, a Wells Fargo home mortgage consultant, will lead this discussion.
On Dec. 3, Christine Avard from Bankers Life and Casualty will talk about Medicare options, final expenses, long-term care and home health options and fixed investments.
Finally, Renee Flemming, a 1st Source asset advisor, and Bob Long, COA development director, will lead "Leaving a Legacy: Estate Planning and End of Year Giving" on Dec. 17.
