Meth sends two to jail from Jones

CASSOPOLIS -- The residence of 67875 Robbins Lake Rd., Jones was also the address for a methamphetamine lab which Cass County officers broke up on Sept. 26, 2003.
Two people renting at that address were sentenced in Cass County Circuit Court Friday morning by Judge Michael E. Dodge.
April L. Trosper, 32, who had no prior record will now spend the next year in the Cass County Jail, less five days credit unless she is accepted into the Kalamazoo program for women.
She was found by officers with one fourth pound of meth she had purchased the day before. She was charged with both possession and intent to deliver. A 22 caliber firearm of hers was also found.
She will be on probation for two years and is to pay probation fees of $40 a month, $60 court assessment, $60 Crime Victim's Fee, $450 court costs, and $350 attorney fees.
Also found with a small amount of meth and marijuana at that address was Steven Adam Kiefer, 23. He received a two year probation and 90 days in the Cass County Jail, with credit for six days.
He is to pay $720 probation fees, a $350 fine, $60 court assessment, $60 Crime Victim's Fee, $450 court costs, and $350 attorney fees. His license was suspended for 180 days.

He was stopped by Elkhart County Police just over the state line as they suspected OUIL.

He was sentenced to 30 days in the Cass County Jail, with credit for two days for attempted larceny in a building back on June 9, 2002.
Since then he and the girl have gotten back together.

On Aug. 31, 2003, he was stopped by Cass County Sheriff's Deputies on M-60 in Howard Township.
His speech was slow and his clothes were in disarray, said Dodge and they found both empty beer cans, one opened can and another 11 on ice in his vehicle. When his blood was tested at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiacit was at .27.
He is to pay $60 court assessment, $60 Crime Victim's Fee, $450 court costs, and $480 probation fees. His license is revoke and his vehicle immobilized.
He is also to attend the Victims Impact Panel.
Her case was adjourned until another time, until after she can meet with her attorney.
