At 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, troopers from the Michigan State Police Saugatuck office and Allegan County deputies were dispatched to a plane crash near 115th Avenue and 59th Street in Allegan County's Clyde Township.
A 44-year-old Michigan City, Ind., man was forced to crash-land his 1967 Cessna 172 Skyhawk airplane when he lost engine power while on a sight-seeing flight over southwest Michigan.
By staying calm and following emergency procedures, the pilot was able to put the plane down in a corn field with minimal damage to the plane and walked away uninjured, the state police reported.
The FFA will be conducting further investigation into the crash.
