The Michigan High School Athletic Association Executive Committee met a week ago to determine the status of Buchanan High School sophomore varsity basketball player Jordan Lee.
Lee, who transferred from Cassopolis, was ruled ineligible by the committee and the Buchanan varsity basketball team was forced to forfeit the nine games Lee played in this season.
Lee averaged 9.2 points per game and started one game for the Bucks.
While the school plans to appeal the forfeitures, Buchanan's record dropped from 16-1 to 7-10 because of the decision and the Bucks were bumped out of the running for the Lakeland Conference title. The Bucks are now 9-10.
Buchanan, which has been in the Top 10 in Class C all season, is an honorable mention team in the latest poll released by the Associated Press.
