The engagement of Louisiana Smith of Philip Road, Niles and Joseph Buckhanan of Lansing is announced.
A wedding in St. Patrick's County Park , South Bend, Ind. is planned for May 10, 2008.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Rene Smith of Niles and Scott B. Smith of Niles.
She is a graduate of Niles High School and Michigan State University and is presently working at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Saint Joseph.
The prospective groom is the son of Jerry and Marie Buckhanan of Mooresville, Ind.
He is a graduate of Eau Claire High School and Ferris State University and working at Tem-Pace of Niles.
Matron-of-honor will be Jessica McNally of Baroda.
Bridesmaids are Amanda Smith of Niles, Sara Crabtree of Coloma and Rhianna Smith of Buchanan.
Best man is Jason McNally of Benton Harbor.
Groomsmen include Rob Dertien of Grand Rapids, Josh Rybicki of Eau Claire and Jim Miltenberger of Niles.
Ushers are Chris Lutz and Chris Lantz.
A reception will be held at 1707 Miller Drive, Niles.
