To the editor:

I am writing this letter to urge voters to re-elect Ed Goodman for Cass County Commissioner for District 1— Silver Creek Township.

He has shown his leadership qualities by his dependability, integrity and his willingness to be involved in his community.

Mr. Goodman has dedicated his time to representing the best interests of the residents of Silver Creek Township.

For the past seven years he has coordinated the Silver Creek Neighborhood Watch/Community Awareness Program so township residents can stay abreast of crime reports, road commission work, reports from the Drug Enforcement Team, etc.

For the past 10 years, he has attended all of the Silver Creek Township meetings as well as the Board of Commissioner meetings.

He has taken classes through MSU Extension, is a Master Citizen Planner, attended FEMA classes and is the Flood Plain Manager for Silver Creek Township, committed to protecting our lakes, streams and farmlands.

Voters in Silver Creek Township will recall that when the county board voted for cost of living raises for our highest-paid elected officials, Commissioner Goodman showed courage by voting no.

Ed is responsible and dedicated to doing the best job possible for Silver Creek residents.

We need more commissioners like Mr. Goodman, who puts his constituents’ interests ahead of the party line.

I urge voters to re-elect Ed Goodman on Nov. 2.
