YPSILANTI – Former Niles standouts Nellie Coquillard and Jenna Ignowski are nearing the completion of their first collegiate softball season.

Eastern Michigan University was 17-30-1 heading into weekend action and 6-13-1 in Mid-American Conference play.

Coquillard, who was nominated earlier this season for the MAC Player of the Week, is hitting .263 with four doubles, six home runs and 17 RBIs. She has a slugging percentage of .485 and an on-base percentage of .357.

Coquillard had started 38 out of 39 games this season and had a fielding percentage of .951.

Ignowski is 6-7 in the circle this year for Eastern with an ERA of 4.77.

She has six complete games and one shutout. She has pitched 76.1 innings with 57 strikeouts.
