Goalkeepers Camp set for July 23-27
ST. JOSEPH – The 2008 Soccer Goalkeeper Camp, directed by Chris Haack will be held June 23-27 at Upton Middle School in St. Joseph.
The camp is designed for middle school- or high school-aged players, who are learning to be a goalkeeper or have played keeper, but has had little formal training at the position.
This camp teaches basic skills and will also help intermediate keepers achieve the next level of play.
Cost is $125. The camp will run from 3 p.m. until 4:45 each day.

Introduction to disc golf scheduled for July 10
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Join park staff for an introduction to disc golf on Thursday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m., at the Pro Shop in Ferrettie/Baugo Creek County Park. Discs to use and a picnic dinner will be provided by the park. After the lesson, play a round of disc golf for free! The fee for the program is $9/person. Legend Legacy Camp set for June 16-27
The Legend Legacy Camp will be held June 16-27 according to director Jesse Saxton.
The competitive edge-training program will have two sessions – Middle School (Monday-Thursday, 1-3:30 p.m. and Friday, 2-3:30 p.m.) and High School (Monday-Thursday, 3:30-6 p.m. and Friday, 3:30-5 p.m.).
The program is designed to give players the tools, skills, knowledge and conditioning to increase their speed and agility and to improve their reaction time; which gives them a competitive edge for success in sports.
Registration is $110, which includes a T-shirt.

Dowagiac sports physicals at DMS June 5
Sport physicals for Dowagiac Union High and Dowagiac Middle School athletes for the 2008-09 school year will be held on Thursday, June 5.
The physicals, which will be conducted at the Dowagiac Middle School, cost $15.
Anyone in grades 6-11 who plan to participate in sports in 2008-09 must have a physical on file in the athletic office, which is dated after April 15, 2008.
Physicals will begin at 2:30 p.m. with those whose last names begin with M-Z. Physicals for those whose last name begins with A-L will begin at 4:30 p.m.
LMC holding summer basketball camp
BENTON HARBOR – The Lake Michigan College Athletic Department will conduct a boys' summer basketball camp for students entering grades 4 through 9 this fall.
The camp will be held at the St. Joseph High School Field House. Cost per camper is $150.
The camp will be held July 14-17 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily. Participants will learn basic basketball skills and will be instructed individually on the importance of teamwork, leadership skills and education.
Two games will be played daily during the first three days of the camp. A tournament will be played the final day. No previous basketball experience is necessary.
Camp instructors will be LMC athletic director, men's basketball head coach and NJCAA Region XII 2005 Coach of the Year Doug Schaffer and LMC men's basketball assistant coach Jerry Schaffer.
