A Buchanan woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident early this morning.
Carol Stromswold died after her vehicle left Niles-Buchanan Road and collided with a tree.

According to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, there was a report at 1:37 a.m. of a single-motor vehicle accident in Niles Township on Niles-Buchanan Road, at North Hamilton Road. resulting in a fatality. Preliminary investigation shows that Stromswold was traveling east bound on Niles-Buchanan Road when she left the roadway and collided with a tree.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this case.

This accident remains under investigation by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.
