Tennis roundup: Brandywine wins own invitational

Host Brandywine captured five of the eight flight championships to edge Lake Michigan Catholic on Saturday at its own invitational tournament.
The Bobcats captured the Brandywine Classic with 27 points. The Lakers were second with 22 points and Galesburg-Augusta third with 19 points. Cassopolis finished fourth with 12 points.
Alyssa Robbins won the lone singles championship for the Bobcats.
Brandywine swept the doubles flights.
Winning were Lauren Leonard and Kelsey Prestly, Audrey Simmons and Carlee Rankel, Katie Robbins and Lena Miller, along with Ashley DeJonge and Taylor Mattiford.

Niles Doubles Tournament
Edwardsburg edged host Niles 9-7 to capture the Niles Doubles Tournament title on Saturday.
The Eddies had three flight champions, while the Vikings had a pair of champions.
South Bend Washington, which finished third with five points, also had two flight champions.
Winning titles for Edwardsburg were Christina Boesler and Jenna Martin at No. 1 doubles, Emily Wagoner and Alex Watts at No. 3 doubles and Hayley Jones and Jamie Richardson at No. 4 doubles.
The Vikings’ championship game at No. 2 doubles with Lena Cramer and Allison Landgraf, as well as No. 6 doubles with Tearah Hutcheson and Anna Benjamin.

South Haven Invitational
SOUTH HAVEN – Buchanan captured the South Haven Invitational on Saturday as it had four flight champions.
The Bucks scored 17 points to outdistance runner-up Comstock, which had 11 points, and host South Haven, which finished with 10 points. Coloma was fourth with eight points.
Buchanan picked up a pair of flight champions in both singles and doubles competition.
Kristine Gordon was the champion at No. 1 singles, while Ashley Deveraux was the champion at No. 4 singles.
Jessie Hansen and Kayle Brademas won at No. 1 doubles, with Desi and Lacy Phillips winning at No. 4 doubles.
